HEAVY VEHICLE DRIVER job: Rand Water is seeking a skilled HEAVY VEHICLE DRIVER to join their team. This permanent position involves safely operating and maneuvering various trucks to carry out essential duties.
Duties:
The successful candidate will be responsible for weekly refuse removal, as well as providing transportation support for Rand Water personnel when needed.
Maintaining the presentable and reliable condition of the company’s facilities and equipment is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements
Applicants must possess a Grade 12 or equivalent qualification, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in operating heavy vehicles. A valid Code 14 driver’s license and the ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 driving test are required.
Previous experience in operating a Back-actor and supervisory roles would be an added advantage.
Regularly tending to the plant’s needs.
Safely transporting passengers and employees.
Daily delivery, collection, and management of equipment and materials, as well as vehicle log books.
Reporting incidents and defects to the Supervisor, and keeping the truck clean.
Assisting the Gang Overseer in overseeing employee tasks as per job card schedules.
Verifying employees’ adherence to safety protocols and use of necessary PPE.
Monitoring worker performance, inspecting tasks, and reporting to the Supervisor, including all incidents.
Ensuring availability of tools for various jobs, and securing them when not in use.
Attending required official meetings.
Completing job cards, timesheets, overtime reports, and obtaining authorization for requisitions and orders.
Maintaining stock levels, records, and the orderly state of the Civil store.
Reporting health and safety aspects within the area of responsibility to control losses.
Maintaining general cleanliness and order.
Knowledge of safe working procedures.
