About General worker job: Fraser Alexanda, a leading provider of water and wastewater management services, is seeking an experienced and dedicated General Worker to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all planned operational targets for the water division are met in a timely and high-quality manner, in accordance with our contractual obligations.
Responsibilities:
As a General Worker, you will work closely with the team leader/supervisor to achieve the planned operational targets for the water division. This will involve performing daily inspections on your designated area of responsibility, planning and managing the water sites, and assisting with problem-solving on operational challenges. You will be required to report any deviations to your immediate supervisor and adhere to the company’s discipline procedures, safety rules, and regulations. Additionally, you will be responsible for the opening and closing of valves in line with operational requirements, as well as the extension and connection of pipelines.
Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must possess a Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent. Wastewater and water certificates will be considered an advantage, and previous exposure to wastewater management is preferred. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong planning and organizational abilities. Teamwork, observance, innovation, and an action-oriented approach are also essential qualities for this role.
General requirements
As a General Worker at Fraser Alexanda, you must be able to understand and adhere to the relevant Standard Operating Procedures. You must also be medically fit to work in a mining environment and pass the company’s criminal screening process. Overtime work may be required from time to time to ensure the successful completion of projects and the achievement of operational targets.
