Job Description:
As a General Assistant at Cashbuild, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a comprehensive and positive customer experience within the store. Your primary responsibilities will include merchandising of stock, maintaining accurate shelf price labeling, and managing the overall cleanliness and organization of your designated work area.
Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must possess a minimum of a Grade 10 certificate or NQF 3 qualification, along with at least 1 year of relevant work experience. Alternatively, candidates with a Grade 12 qualification but no prior work experience will also be considered.
In addition to the educational and experience requirements, you must demonstrate the ability to communicate fluently in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is available. A valid South African ID or work permit is also a must-have.
You will be required to perform basic calculations accurately, as this role involves handling customer inquiries and transactions. The ability to work efficiently under pressure, as well as a willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service by advising and assisting customers on the correct products and addressing their queries and concerns in a prompt and professional manner.
- Resolve customer complaints in a courteous and effective manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that the bulk stock area is merchandised safely and according to the store layout plan.
- Maintain your designated area of responsibility by fully merchandising the shelves in line with the store’s layout and planograms.
- Uphold high standards of housekeeping by keeping your work area free of obstacles, promptly stocking the shelves with newly received products, and ensuring a clean and organized environment for customers.
